House Paints: More than Just a matter of Taste

Like in simple arts projects, choosing what kind of paints to apply on your house is important. It is one of those least thought of details, but can have a repercussion in the time to come. Paints do not just define the color of your Tagatay house walls. They add to the mood of the place and consequently of the the people in it, since studies show that humans sometimes do tend to respond in terms of visual stimulations. On the other hand, paints comprise the exterior layer of the walls and hencefort, they can be used to add protection. Do not just focus on the aesthetics that painting it will imbue, also think about the quality of the pigments that you will be using. Chances are, it will be more costly to repaint the walls each year using a low end paint, than have it finished with a quality, but more expensive, material. So, before you embark on your home decorations and decide what hues to use or what accents and shadings to apply, do not forget to put in a quality paint on your check list. Of course, this can still depend on your preferences.

There are a variety of different paints. One of which is latex or the paints that are primarily water based. Latex paints do not fade easily. They also produce less cracks in the long run. Aside from that, the paints do not peel off so much and do not have pungent smells so they are okay to use on the exterior walls. It is also fast drying and you’ll only need water to thin it out so it’s relatively easy to apply and use.

There are also oil-based paints. Usually, these are used in the interior walls because they are strong and cling toughly. They are however slow drying so once you decide to use oil-based paints, be ready to camp out somewhere else since your really have to be careful around them to avoid smudging the colors. They also have to be thinned out with special mineral spirits or turpentine. One good thing about oil-based colors is that they come in great hues.

Another kind of paints is vinyl-acrylic latex paints. They have long lasting colors and adheres better than the previous two. They come out a bit pricey though but if you’re really particular about these strengths, they can be great choices.

Roof repair costs a lot of money. While it is easy to live day by day without thinking about your roof, you can’t just run away from this problem, unless of course you can shrug your shoulder against dripping ceiling.



Here are some signs that signal repair:

1. Age
If you just bought your home from someone else, make sure to know when it is built or at least when was the last time the roof is repaired. It is very important t have regular check up to keep you away from more expensive damage. In an average, below 20 years from construction is a safe figure. After that, repair is a must. However, if you location experiences severe change of extreme weather conditions, expect to have repair issues within twelve years.

2. Your neighbors are starting to repair theirs
One most of your neighbors are repairing theirs, chances are, you must go along with them. In every neighborhood, there is one person who is organized. Keep an eye on him and just follow through.

3. Calamity around the location
Even if your house is standing still after a calamity brought about by nature, it is very important to check your house roof. If you saw a minor problem, resolve it right away before it implicate the rest of the roofing system. The next thing you know, you will need to restore your roof in full.

These three things are good indications; however, it is more advisable to check your roof at least every year against minor damage that can cause the entire roof to rotten.
